Biography

北海道上川郡鷹栖町出身。
5歳からクラシックピアノを本格的に習いはじめた事が、音楽の世界に足を踏み入れるきっかけとなる。
20歳からボーカリストとして北海道札幌市内のvocal live BARを中心にレギュラー活動、
当時はジャズではなくロックやR&Bを中心としたナンバーを歌っていた。
ジャズとの出会いは22歳。
ソロ活動に転向し、北海道内全域でライブ活動・イベント参加等幅広く活動。
23歳で上京。
ジャズを中心にポップス・R&Bなど様々なジャンルのプレイヤーと共演。
関東圏・関西圏を中心に、全国各地でライブ・イベント参加、有名ホテル演奏、ラウンジ弾き語り演奏、コーラスサポート等を経て、2022年京都府へ移住。ジャンルにとらわれない「門馬瑠依」という唯一無二の世界観は観客・共演者から注目を浴びており、様々なプレイヤーとのアコースティック感溢れるライブ活動は好評を博している。
国内ツアー・海外演奏活動も積極的に行い、一方でボーカル講師や音楽を通しての地域貢献活動にも近年取り組んでいる。

2011年5月、ロシア・サンクトペテルブルグで行われたNPO法人による日露文化交流の祭典に参加。
2013年4月、ファーストミニアルバム『Decision』発売。
2015年7月、セカンドアルバム『夢の浮橋』発売。
2016年7月、フィリピン・マニラにて行われた Wind&Jazz FestivalにCultural Center Of PhilippinesのPresident RAUL M. SUNICO氏のコーディネートを受けゲストシンガーとして参加。
2017年2月、埼玉県八潮市音楽大使に就任。
2017年3月、オリジナル楽曲を中心に活動するギタージャズトリオ+ボーカルユニット『NUCO LABORATORY』のオリジナル楽曲EP配信開始。
2018年8月、台湾・台北市にてライブ活動開始。
2019年5月、3rdアルバム『Words Can't Describe』発売。
2020年8月、「MONボイストレーニングサロン」設立。
2021年4月、映画音楽を凝縮させた4thアルバム『FROM MOVIES』全国発売。

Jazz singer and composer, Rui Monma, was born in Hokkaido, Japan.
At the age of 5, she started to play classic piano, and that was the start of her life in music.
At the age of 20, she started to perform as a vocalist at a music bar in Sapporo.
At that time, she used to sing rock and R&B rather than jazz.
She met with the world of jazz at the age of 22, and became a solo singer to perform at concerts and live events with Hokkaido.

She moved to Tokyo to build more career at the age of 23, and then she performed with various types of musicians.
The genres of music was not only jazz but also include pop, R&B and the other types of music.
Currently, she is performing mainly in Tokyo through live concerts, chorus groups, and also sings at hotels.
In addition, she actively goes on concert tours in Japan and overseas.
She is also a vocal couch and intends to contribute to the local communities with her music.

Her previous main activities:

- April 2021, released her fourth jazz album that compiles famous movie songs, ”FROM MOVIES”.
- August 2020, started her own vocal school, MON Voice Training Salon. - May 2019, released her third jazz album, “Words Can’t Describe”.
- August 2018, went on a concert tour in Taipei city, Taiwan.
- March 2017, The streaming of the EP that is consisted of original songs by a band called “NUCO LABORATORY” started. The band is formed with a guitar trio and Rui.
- July 2016, performed at “Wind & Jazz Festival” in Cultural Center Of Philippines(CCP). She was invited by Raul M. Sunico, the president of CCP as a guest singer from Japan.
- July 2015, released her second jazz album, “Yume-no-Ukihashi” (means floating bridge of dreams)
- April 2013, released her first mini album, “Decision”
- May 2011, performed in Festival of Cultural Exchange Event in St. Petersburg, Russia as one of the representatives from Japan.
